Window Options Paint Touch-Up

I like to clean all of the joints and seams with an alcohol base. Remove all bubbled paint with a dull scraper or putty knife. Any cracked or peeling paint at joints should be peeled until remaining paint has a strong hold.

Scuff sand all of the areas the new paint will be touching. This includes any detail in the wood beading. Be careful not to scratch the glass.

Apply a superior quality exterior putty to the nail holes or other areas of concern.

Re-sand any areas where putty has been applied.

Fill joints or gaps with a high quality polymer or elasta-meric sealant

Prep window for priming and paint

Use a touch up gun or brush for the final coat. If you have bare wood at the glass to sash area, use an artist brush to touch up.
